Okay, the weather (the reason for my absence) is still cold, but as I'm here - and I couldn't really get much colder - I thought I'd pop in and let the world know that I'll be making a guest appearance at the Ukrainian Club in Ashton, this evening, to help entertain and guide the people in welcoming in the new year. All the furiously hard work of the last two months has led up to this day, and now it's come, I'm not sure that we're absolutely ready. We had a final rehearsal yesterday - it was quite warm actually, and I could play my bass without too much discomfort - but I reckon we didn't go into the music in as much depth as we might have needed, and so I'm not 100% confident that we'll make a flawless performance. However, we're good at sorting things out in the middle songs, and so I don't think there'll be any major disasters.

However, a few more words about my absence. It is, as I said, due to the weather that I haven't been contributing as much as I ought to, but in the new year, I expect to improve. You see, my (immovable) computer is situated right next to a big set of French windows (or patio doors, whichever they are) and at this time of year it seems that the windows amplify the cold, and inch you a few steps closer to pneumonia; and I don't fancy having that again. I don't mind so much, not using the computer, but when it gets warmer, I aim to be on it more often.

Any last requests before 2005 finishes? I only wish that the next year will read the same thing backwards (as in a mirror-image) as it will forwards. But you can't have everything, can you? Farewell. I'll speak to you in 2006.
