In just the past few minutes Fedora Core 6 has been released to us! 3.9GB of delicious Linux software is now making it's way to my computer, at a whopping 15KB/sec, thus it seems I'll have an agonising 3 days to wait. But fear not, it's arriving, complete with KDE 3.5.3, AIGLX, Firefox 1.5, OpenOffice.org 2.0, and many more goodies, not to mention Yum 3.0.

Ah, the download speed has increased to 21KB/sec, with 0.6% done, and apparently 4 days remaining. Never mind: good things come to those who wait. In the meantime, I've decided to download another flavour of Linux called d y n e : b o l i c. It's a Live CD, so will boot from the CD without interfering with the hard drives. That's finished downloading, so all I need to do now is burn the .iso to a CD and then I can reboot into it. But for now, I'm going to let FC6 continue downloading. 10KB/sec with 4 days to go. Whoo-hoo! Get it while it's hot!
