'Later' has turned into, 'in a few days' time'. Nevertheless...

The assignment was divided into four sections, covering the four disciplines we'd been studying during the previous month: art history, literature (specifically poetry), music and philosophy.

Art History: An Account of Pieter de Hooch's Courtyard of a house in Delft

We were presented with this painting, and asked to write an account of it, paying attention to the organisation of the pictorial space, the tonal quality, lighting and colouration, and the placing of the figures. This had to be done in no more than 300 words, which I managed, with six to spare, achieving a score of 17/25.

Literature: An Account of William Shakespeare's That time of year thou mayst in me behold

That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou see'st the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west;
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death's second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the deathbed whereon it must expire,
Consumed with that which it was nourished by.
This thou perceiv'st, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.

For the second part of the assignment we had to write an account of this sonnet of Shakespeare's, considering the following aspects of the poem: form, imagery, diction and voice, paying attention to the way in which these features contribute to the poem's meaning. Again, the answer couldn't exceed 300 words, and I managed it in 291, adding another eighteen points to my tally, for I scored 18/25.

Music: How Weelkes uses the elements of music to produce a setting of the text of As Vesta was from Latmos Hill descending which complements its meaning

I consider music to be my fortι out of the four disciplines, and before I began it I thought I would find this section of the assignment really easy. It ended up being a bit more difficult than I thought, but I managed alright in the end. I feel I have a reasonable knowledge of music, but to select information to present in an essay of 300 words, that will give me the best chance of gaining a good mark, isn't all that easy. But I managed it, with a whopping 327 words, and gained my best mark of the four, with 21/25.

Philosophy

The fourth section is simply entitled thus, and I found it the simplest of the sections. We were presented with an argument between two characters about the pros and cons of having a fair distribution of wealth, and had to analyse their argument, describing their premises and conclusions, and had to put forward one possible objection to the argument that one of the characters gives against the practicability of a fair distribution of wealth. I found it fairly interesting, and it was my first formal introduction to the concept of premises and conclusions - something which I understood already, but couldn't define. Like the previous three, this had to be written in no more than 300 words, over which I sneaked, with a total of 321. However, these high word counts haven't hindered me this time, for I scored my second best score of the assignment with 20/25.

All in all, I scored 76/100, thus 76%, and a Grade B, which I was very surprised and (continue to be) happy about. Thank you.

Now, you can decide the course of events here. You can vote amongst yourselves, on whether I should publish my assignment on here, or not. The comments box is open for you to vote, a simple 'Yay' or 'Nay', and if there seems to be a predominance of yays over nays, the assignment will appear here in less than no time.
