Ah, hurry hurry hurry! At least I haven't got any parentheses to worry about for this one. My short summary of Yarema's most recent gig follows, and then our final WoW in Chapter Six.
I arrived in the club on Saturday the 2nd December 2006 feeling sick to my stomach. I'd been to my grandparent's on Santa Duty with my parents earlier in the afternoon, and had felt sick all through the visit. But, considering I'd missed the last band rehearsal the day before, the least I could do was to play through my sickness.
So I arrived, sort of bleary-eyed, and followed the way through to the stage, and just when I got there I noticed about six chaps I'd never seen before. 'Oh, hello,' I said, 'Are you the Ukrainians?' They were, and I was introduced to them all. Then after a lot of 'Hello-ing' and getting in the way, I sat down quietly in the bar area with the Ukrainians, and relaxed.
A lot of relaxing ensued, until the rest of my band mates arrived at about 17:00-ish (if I remember rightly). Then we proceeded to watch the Ukrainians sound-checking and rehearsing until the stage was free for us to sound-check. Which we did, and then we got off the stage, and began milling around. People started to arrive, who we met and greeted, and then a little later I was told there was food upstairs. So, up I went, with two Ukrainians hot on my tail, and we sat down to a gorgeous meal.
In short, we went on stage a little while later, and played an absolutely blinding set. It sounded amazing for us, and from the sound of the Ukrainians when they were playing after us, it sounded amazing for the audience too. A professional sound engineer was there, you see, and he even recorded our set onto mini-disc, which I can't wait to hear!
And to round off Chapter Six, we have the most delicious abstract-noun in the dictionary...

Oh, fart - Wednesday's over. Dammit! Ah, oh well. I may not have done justice to our gig, or the WoW, but at least it's written, and I can get on with something else for Chapter Seven.
